SCDP holds a meeting on progression of the NFE policy document. The Sindh School Education & Literacy Department and the USAID have started scaling up the efforts to address the problem of out-of-school children in Sindh and bringing children back to the classrooms. Under the umbrella of USAID supported Sindh Basic Education Program (SBEP), the Sindh Capacity Development Project (SCDP) presented the briefing on progression of Non Formal Education Policy document on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 in Program Management & Implementation Unit (PMIU) of SBEP. The Secretary, School Education & literacy Department, Mr. Abdul Aziz Uqaili chaired the session. The SBEP partners and stakeholders, including Sindh Community Mobilization Program (CMP) Sindh Reading Program (SRP), Pakistan Reading Program (PRP), Directorate of Non Formal Education and Directorate of Monitoring & Evaluation were present in the meeting. Mr. Abdul Wahab Soomro, Program Director -SBEP, Mr. Lila Ram Project Management Specialist (Education) USAID and the representatives of UNICEF Sindh & JICA Pakistan also attended the event. Mr. Uqaili was of view that the policy document will be presented to the parliamentarians for the approval and implementation of the policy in Sindh.
