Program Steering Committee (PSC) of SBEP meets to review progress – July 27, 2020.

The Program Steering Committee (PSC) of the Sindh Basic Education Program (SBEP) held it's 22nd meeting today at Karachi to review program progress. The Chairman PSC Mr. Ahmed Bux Narejo, Secretary, School Education & Literacy Department, presided the meeting. The Program Director SBEP Mr. Hafeez Raza Shaikh apprised the forum about the program. The forum appraised program progress discussed the issues and proposed the way forward.

Mr. Mark Sorensen, Acting Director, USAID visited Program Management & Implementation Unit (PMIU) of Sindh Basic Education Program today on October 31st, 2019 to discuss the achievements and distribute the appreciation letters among PMIU team members for their contribution. In recognition of the valuable & significant role played by PMU team, Mr. Sorensen awarded appreciation certificates among all PMIU staff. The Program Director, SBEP Mr. Mushtaque Ahmed Soomro accompanied by other USAID officials i.e. Mr. Lila Ram, USAID Project Management Specialist and Mr. Hafeez Somo, Education Specialist at the distribution ceremony.

Program Steering Committee (PSC) of SBEP meets to review the progress – October 18, 2019

The 21st Program Steering Committee (PSC) of Sindh Basic Education Program (SBEP) met to review program progress on 18th October 2019 at PMIU, Karachi. The chairman PSC Mr. Ahsan Ali Mangi, Secretary, School Education Department, presided the meeting. The Program Director SBEP Mr. Mushtaque Ahmed Soomro apprised the chair about USAID supported Sindh Basic Education Program being executed by School Education and Literacy Department (SE&LD), Government of Sindh. The progress of SBEP was reviewed, issues discussed; the way forward also was marked.

Mr. Mark Sorensen, Director, Education USAID, along with Mr. Lila Ram also graced the event.

The representatives from the Finance Department, Planning & Development Department, Reform Support Unit, SE&LD' PPP Node, Halcrow Pakistan and Community Mobilization Program also attended the meeting.

Dadu (September 30, 2019) – United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Acting Director for Sindh and Balochistan Mark Sorensen and Program Director SBEP Mushtaque Ahmed Soomro today inaugurated a recently completed school for the local community at Mondar, Dadu.

Jones and Honourable Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah with Secretary School Education and Literacy Department Government of Sindh Mr. Ahsan Ali Mangi on 17th September, 2019 inaugurated a recently completed school that was constructed with support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) at Damba Village in Gadap Town, Karachi.

USAID

On July 23, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Director for Sindh and Balochistan Michael Hryshchyshyn and Secretary Education Qazi Shahid Parvez, participated in a Closing Ceremony of Sindh Capacity Development Project (SCDP) supported by USAID. The Government of Sindh’s officials, educationists and civil society representatives were present.
